WHAT SHOULD YOU EXPECT FROM YOUR APPOINTMENT?
Your appointment will follow a similar format to the standard osteopathy appointment with a few key differences.
During the case history we will discuss information relevant to your sport. This may include but is not limited to:

Current goals e.g. upcoming races or competitions,

Your training schedule and where you are in your training plan if you have one

Frequency and intensity of training

Advice or support you have received from your coach

Experience in your chosen sport

Areas of focus e.g. technique, speed, endurance

Your feelings towards training and injury
The assessment may include movements specific to your chosen sport, such as a golf swing for example, if the pain or symptoms are only brought on at a particular moment and not frequently recreated in ‘normal’ life. You should attend your appointment dressed to move – sport/gym kit is suitable. You may be asked to expose the area by removing layers to assist with diagnosis.
You can expect to receive a home exercise programme to help support your Osteopathic treatment.

SPORTS INJURIES IN CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
Many older children/teenagers are heavily involved in sport, committing many hours a week to training and competition. The clinic will provide a supportive environment to help your sporty teen navigate their pain and injury.
Our practitioners understand children are not simply ‘mini adults’; the treatment approach will be specifically tailored to the developmental stage of the individual.
All patients under 16 will require a parent or guardian to remain present throughout the entire consultation.
Our Approach
We let you tell your story. We ask a lot of questions. It's important to not only identify the source of your pain but also why you are experiencing it. At Tottenham Hale Osteopaths we recognise that in order to successfully overcome pain or injury there must be a partnership between patient and practitioner.
You can expect a treatment plan tailored to you delivered by a friendly, knowledgeable team.
